MERCY Malaysia is an international non-profit organization that has been providing medical relief and humanitarian aid for over two decades. It all began in 1999 when Dr. Jemilah Mahmood, a Malaysian obstetrician & gynecologist, was deeply moved by the suffering of innocent civilians, particularly women and children, during the war in Kosovo. With a few like-minded friends, she established the Malaysian Medical Relief Society, now known as MERCY Malaysia.

Since then, MERCY Malaysia has conducted numerous missions in 32 countries, offering humanitarian assistance in both crisis and non-crisis situations. They have evolved into a comprehensive humanitarian organization, offering a wide range of services from emergency response to rehabilitation and recovery, mitigation and prevention, and disaster preparedness.

MERCY Malaysia operates with a vision to be outstanding in the delivery of medical and humanitarian aid to all. They have over 500 members and more than 7,000 registered volunteers. The organization upholds guiding principles and standards set by international organizations, ensuring quality and accountable services.

MERCY Malaysia's mission is to provide sustainable health-related development, risk reduction activities, and medical relief to vulnerable communities. They prioritize the needs of affected communities, ensuring that assistance is appropriate, relevant, and effective. The organization also follows strict codes of conduct and standards to uphold the dignity and rights of all beneficiaries.
