Meritie

Meritie ry is an Espoo-based boating club founded in 1972 to promote recreational boating, water sports and safety on the water. Its aim is to make boating accessible to people in different ways, while providing members with practical facilities and opportunities to enjoy life at sea. At Suomenoja harbour, Meritie offers well-maintained, equipped berths, winter storage spaces and a mast shed. The club’s clubhouse, or pursimaja, serves as a central gathering place near the water. Members can also use the club’s own island destination in the Inkoo archipelago.

Meritie supports competitive sailing, with activities focused mainly on its Tuesday races and a single-handed sailing competition. The club also makes its Suomenoja clubhouse available for private events, with comfortable facilities for gatherings of up to around 40 people. Prospective members can learn about joining through the club, while members have access to dedicated online pages and information about club activities. Through its facilities, sailing events and shared island destination, Meritie brings together people interested in boating and water sports.
