About merSETA
As one of the 21 Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs) in South Africa, merSETA covers the Manufacturing, Engineering, and Related Services sectors. With its six distinct chambers, including Metal and Engineering, Tyre Manufacturing, Auto Manufacturing, Plastics Manufacturing, Motor Retail, and Components Manufacturing, merSETA serves approximately 40,000 companies, with 14,600 of them being levy-paying entities. The brand plays a crucial role in implementing the National Skills Development Strategy by disbursing grants, accrediting providers, monitoring training quality, and bridging the skills gap through various projects.
