ME STRONG is a 501(c)(3) charity based in DeLand, Florida, dedicated to supporting individuals, families, and friends affected by cancer. Founded around a community 5K first held in 2012, the organization brings people together through friendship, encouragement, and local fundraising. Its signature event, the annual ME STRONG 5K, welcomes runners and walkers and has grown to attract more than 7,500 participants.
The 16th annual race is scheduled for January 30, 2027, and is hosted by ME STRONG, the Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation, and the Rotary Clubs of West Volusia County, with Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute as presenting sponsor. Sponsorship and fundraising donations benefit the Foundation, helping ease the financial burden of cancer treatment for community members and their families. ME STRONG also directs people seeking assistance to apply for grants through the Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation.
Supporters can take part in the race, contribute through donations, or learn about applying for support. Through these efforts, the organization turns community participation into practical help for people facing cancer
