About Metal Equipped
Metal Equipped is a renowned textile company with over 60 years of experience in providing high-quality protective footwear. Our primary focus is on producing military-grade fire retardant socks that offer exceptional protection. Our socks, named Viðar and Týr, have won numerous awards and are known for their innovation and performance.
In the 80s, we shifted our focus to producing protective footwear due to the increasing presence of metal smelting industries in Iceland, which set high standards for work safety. Our founder, Mr. Viðar Magnusson, pioneered the development of heat-resistant socks using a unique blend of fabrics, including Kermel, Viscose FR, and Wool.
These socks offer maximum heat resistance while ensuring comfort and flexibility. Today, Metal Equipped is led by Ms. Helga Viðarsdóttir, who has expanded our company's reach to international markets.
We have satisfied customers worldwide, and our expertise in specialist textiles continues to grow.
