Meteoradar

Meteoradar is a leading brand that specializes in detecting precipitation cloudiness. Their online radar map allows users to track current rainfall 🌧️ in the Czech Republic, as well as the development and movement of precipitation clouds. Meteoradar also provides a forecast of rainfall for the next few hours.

Using electromagnetic waves, the radar detects the precipitation particles such as water droplets and ice crystals, and analyzes the reflected signals to determine the vertical power of the cloud and the distance to the target. This information is used to generate graphical outputs and predictions of rainfall intensity, including heavy rain, hail, and floods. The intensity of the rainfall is represented by different colors for ease of interpretation.

Operated by the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (CHMI), the meteoradar system in the Czech Republic consists of two radar stations located in Brdy and Drahanská vrchovina. These radar stations underwent modernization in 2007 and can cover a distance of approximately 250 km. For easy access and convenience, Meteoradar offers mobile applications that provide real-time radar images and allow users to stay informed about rainfall in their vicinity.
