Metro Animal Shelter is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Established in July 1994, we are dedicated to creating a more humane community that values animals and promotes compassion and kindness towards them. Our mission is to provide resources, programs, and information needed to support responsible pet ownership and to strengthen the animal-human bond.

As a leading animal shelter in the area, we offer a range of services and programs. We provide a safe haven for animals in need, accepting both strays and surrendered pets from animal control and citizens alike. Our dedicated staff evaluates each animal to ensure the best possible placement.

Through our adoption program, we facilitate matchmaking between animals and their potential adopters, taking into consideration individual needs and preferences. In addition to our adoption services, we offer fostering opportunities, allowing individuals to temporarily care for animals until they find their forever homes. We also organize various events and provide resources to educate the community about animal welfare.

At Metro Animal Shelter, we strive to inspire community involvement and promote responsible lifelong pet ownership. Join us in making a difference in the lives of animals - adopt, foster, volunteer, or donate today!
