Metropolitan Picture Framing is a family-owned manufacturing business based in Minnesota. With a rich history dating back to the 1960s, Metropolitan initially started as a custom picture frame store and later expanded to become a DIY retail framing store called FRAMEYOURSELF. However, in the 1990s, the company shifted its focus to meet the needs of the contemporary fine art market.

Today, Metropolitan specializes in custom milling, finishing, and creating museum-quality wood moulding and gallery frames for the fine art community. Their frames are made from North American hardwoods in 35 different finishes, offering a wide range of options for museums, galleries, picture framers, artists, and photographers. With state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment and a commitment to sustainability using FSC certified lumber, Metropolitan ensures the production of high-quality frames that are shipped on time.

Their exceptional craftsmanship has gained international recognition, with their frames displayed in exhibitions around the world. From custom projects like the Saint John's Bible to replica frames for Edward Curtis photography, Metropolitan's expertise extends to oversized projects as well.
