Mothers for Change Uganda (MFCU) is a brand dedicated to empowering young mothers and expectant mothers in the Namuwongo slum of Kampala. Our mission is to provide them with the necessary support and resources to acquire professional skills, achieve economic independence, and obtain vital information about early childhood development, women's and children's rights, and sexual reproductive health. We firmly believe that by breaking the cycle of hardship, these mothers can better protect and support themselves and their children.

The Namuwongo slum is home to a predominantly illiterate population with limited access to healthcare, education, and employment opportunities. Most women in the community are unemployed and dependent on male relatives. MFCU is focused on creating a safe and inspiring environment within our house, where mothers can freely communicate, receive counseling, and participate in workshops facilitated by experts.

These workshops cover a range of topics, including sexual reproductive rights and health, domestic violence, women's protection, children's rights, and nutrition during and after pregnancy. Through our program, we also provide small loans to mothers, enabling them to establish small businesses and attain economic independence.
