The Mpumalanga Fly Fishing Association (MFFA) is the provincial federation representing fly fishing in Mpumalanga, South Africa. Affiliated with the South African Fly Fishing Association (SAFFA), it supports the sport locally while contributing to the wider national fly-fishing community. MFFA promotes unity among anglers and works to protect the future of the sport.
Its activities include social events that give members opportunities to enjoy fishing, build skills and learn from one another, with guidance from provincial and national anglers serving as mentors. The association also facilitates competitive trial events to select Mpumalanga representatives for national championships in the Masters, Senior, Ladies and Youth categories. These championships are overseen by SAFFA, which also manages national team selection for World and Commonwealth Championships.
MFFA’s fishing activities are concentrated mainly in the Blyde River system near Pilgrim’s Rest and the Highlands Meander, including the Dullstroom area, widely regarded as a central destination for fly fishing in South Africa.
