About Making Finance Work for Africa
Mfw4A, the Making Finance Work for Africa Partnership, is a unique initiative dedicated to supporting the development of African financial sectors. As a platform for African governments, the private sector, and development partners, Mfw4A aims to coordinate financial sector development interventions across the continent, ensuring that resources are maximized and duplication is avoided. The Mfw4A Secretariat, located within the African Development Bank in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, serves as the executive arm of the Partnership, working to advance its goals.
Mfw4A envisions deeper, more efficient, and stable African financial systems that can drive inclusive and sustained growth, as well as resilient economies. The mission of Mfw4A is to make the financial sector work effectively and sustainably in response to Africa's pressing challenges such as poverty, gender inequality, climate change, and youth unemployment.
