About MHIS-PMJAY
Megha Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS) is a comprehensive health insurance program launched in 2012 by the Government of Meghalaya. The scheme, implemented in collaboration with the Rashtriya Swasthiya Bima Yojana (RSBY), offers coverage up to ₹5. 3 Lakhs and includes critical care, oncology, and other tertiary packages.
The recent phase, MHIS 6, in conjunction with Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), has introduced various enhancements such as OPD coverage for maternity and child care, cardiac and diabetes preventive care benefits, among others. Reliance General Insurance Company Limited is the appointed insurer for MHIS 6. With improvements like auto empanelment for hospitals and moveable District Kiosks, MHIS aims to provide accessible and quality healthcare services to the residents of Meghalaya.
