MIC fest – Musica, Incontri, Cultura is a summer cultural festival organised by Associazione Piccola Orchestra Italiana APS. Founded in 2003 by artistic director Enrico Grignaffini, it brings free public events to evocative locations across the region, including squares, courtyards and castles. Now in its 23rd edition, the festival involves audiences across the provinces of Piacenza, Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena, Cremona, Mantua, La Spezia and Massa Carrara.
Its programme connects different art forms and communities, offering music, theatre, visual art, dance and comedy, with an emphasis on accessible cultural experiences and shared moments of discovery. Over time, the festival has developed dedicated strands: MIC Libri focuses on contemporary literature; MIC Jazz presents artists from the international jazz scene; MIC Storie offers events for children and families; and MIC Teatro explores contemporary theatre. Delivered through collaboration with institutions, partners, artists and volunteers, MIC fest continues to evolve while maintaining its founding purpose: bringing quality artistic events into local communities and creating opportunities for people to meet through culture
