The Michael Collins Centre and Museum in Ballinoroher, near Clonakilty, Ireland, is a heritage attraction devoted to the life and legacy of Michael Collins and the history of Ireland’s revolutionary period. Its main offering is a live, illustrated presentation that uses photographs, maps and traditional Irish storytelling to explore Collins’s story. Visitors can also take a guided tour of the museum’s extensive collection of artefacts associated with the 1916 Rebellion, the Irish War of Independence and the Irish Civil War. The collection includes six personal items connected to Collins, alongside outdoor exhibits.
The centre offers private guided tours of historic sites in West and mid-Cork. The Michael Collins Tour lasts approximately three and a half to four hours, while the full-day War of Independence Tour lasts at least six hours. Both are led by founder Tim Crowley, and visitor groups provide their own car or coach. Museum visits and tours operate by appointment during much of the year, with scheduled presentations available in summer.
