Michele Garbin

Michele Garbin is an Italian metalworking artist and master chaser who creates distinctive works by hand, blending traditional techniques with a contemporary artistic sensibility. Trained at a goldsmithing and silversmithing school in Milan, he further developed his craft with experienced silversmiths and sculpture teachers. His work focuses on repoussé and chasing, historic methods he uses to shape and decorate precious metals with fine detail.

Garbin’s creations include silver art plates, decorative objects, and bespoke pieces inspired by famous paintings, portraits, animals, and personal subjects. Examples include silver plates interpreting works by Arcimboldo and Caravaggio, finished with materials such as 24-karat gold plating, colored enamels, oxides, lapis lazuli, and Swarovski stones. Each piece is individually made by Garbin, with materials and design tailored to the client’s wishes and intended setting.

He also accepts commissions to represent a person, a meaningful place, or another chosen image on silver, gold, copper, or brass, with optional precious stones and ornamental details. The result is a handmade, one-of-a-kind work of art.
