Michigan Invasives

The Michigan Invasive Species Coalition (MISC) is dedicated to supporting the efforts of local and regional groups focused on controlling invasive species in Michigan. By fostering collaboration among invasive species coordinators, MISC provides a vital network that enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of management strategies. Their mission is reinforced by partnerships with key organizations, including the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and The Nature Conservancy of Michigan, ensuring a united approach to combat invasive species.

MISC offers valuable resources such as educational materials on invasive species management, tools for landowners, and a platform to share best practices and experiences among stakeholders. They also host events, including an annual meeting, to engage the community in awareness and action against invasive species. The coalition emphasizes proactive strategies and effective communication to address the challenges posed by invasive species, aiming for a sustainable ecosystem in Michigan. By raising awareness and offering support, MISC plays a crucial role in preserving the natural heritage of the Great Lakes region.
