The Michigan Clean Water Corps (MiCorps) is a dedicated network of volunteer water quality monitoring programs operating across Michigan. Established through an executive order to support the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), MiCorps plays a crucial role in the management and protection of water resources. The organization offers a range of services, including the Cooperative Lakes Monitoring Program (CLMP) and volunteer stream monitoring initiatives, aimed at enhancing the health of Michigan’s lakes and streams.
MiCorps provides robust training opportunities for volunteers, ensuring they are well-equipped to monitor water quality effectively. Through programs like the Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Detection Blitz, community members can actively participate in environmental stewardship by reporting invasive species. With resources such as individual lake reports, annual summaries, and training videos, MiCorps fosters a collaborative effort to gather and share vital water quality data. Connect with MiCorps to join their mission of safeguarding Michigan’s aquatic ecosystems.
