MicrobeMS

MicrobeMS is a specialized software package created for the analysis of MALDI-TOF mass spectra related to microbial samples, developed by Peter Lasch at the Robert-Koch-Institute in Berlin, Germany. This Matlab toolbox is designed to facilitate microbial identification and classification based on distinct mass spectral patterns. MicrobeMS is compatible with Windows (from 7 to 11) and LINUX systems, allowing seamless integration into diverse computing environments.

The software supports a variety of mass spectral data formats, including those from Bruker Daltonics and Shimadzu, enabling robust import, export, and processing capabilities. With tools for spectral pre-processing—like smoothing and baseline correction—users can effectively prepare their mass spectra for analysis. MicrobeMS also incorporates advanced features such as unsupervised hierarchical cluster analysis, peak frequency testing, and artificial neural network identification, empowering researchers to identify microorganisms with precision.
