Middelburg Country Club

Middelburg Country Club is a longstanding sporting and hospitality destination in Middelburg, Mpumalanga, with a history rooted in the town’s development. Its original golf course was built in 1903 by Imperial British troops, and the present club officially opened on 23 August 1967 after local clubs relocated and amalgamated. Following a fire in 1982, the club buildings were rebuilt with support from Columbus Stainless.

The club offers golf on a course whose second nine was designed by Gary Player, alongside a golf shop, driving range and published green-fee information. Other sporting facilities include six tennis courts, three squash courts and two bowling greens; bowls is open to the public on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Visitors can also use the clubhouse bar and pub, with dartboards and large-screen televisions, as well as a halfway house and locker rooms.

Accommodation is available in spacious, air-conditioned guest-lodge rooms with en-suite bathrooms. The club’s à la carte restaurant provides catering for events, and its conference and banquet venues support gatherings.
