MIDEPLAN, Costa Rica’s Ministry of National Planning and Economic Policy, is a government institution that guides national development planning and supports the coordination and modernization of public administration. Its work spans long-, medium- and short-term planning, regional development, public policy, investment, international cooperation, and the evaluation and monitoring of government plans and programs.

The ministry develops and publishes planning instruments, technical guidelines, research, data, and methodological tools for public institutions, researchers, and the public. Its resources include the National Development and Public Investment Plan, the National Strategic Plan 2050, regional planning materials, public investment project information, development indicators, and digital publications. MIDEPLAN also supports the National Planning System, public-sector organizational reform, and initiatives related to public employment and service oversight.

Through international cooperation programs such as COOPERA, it helps advance South-South and triangular cooperation for sustainable development. The ministry provides public access to open data, institutional information, citizen-service forms, and channels for inquiries, feedback, complaints, and reports.
