Crime Stoppers of The Midlands is a community-supported program that helps residents share information about crime with local law enforcement while remaining anonymous. As of January 1, 2023, it serves Lexington and Richland counties in South Carolina. The organization accepts tips about wanted suspects, missing persons, and unsolved crimes, and offers several ways to submit information: the P3 Tips mobile app, an online tip form, or its hotline at 888-274-6372.
Through the app, tipsters can upload images and videos and exchange messages with tip managers. A unique Tip ID and password allow users to follow up on a submission and check its status. Crime Stoppers says it does not ask for tipsters’ names, use caller ID, record hotline calls, or track locations.
If a tip leads to an arrest, the person providing it may be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000. A volunteer board and tax-deductible public donations support the program; it does not receive government funding or tax dollars
