We have social meet ups, peer support groups, pride and awareness events and support for parents of LGBT+ young people. Through these activities we hope to help create a sense of community for LGBT+ people in the midlands, and reduce isolation felt. The project also works towards ensuring the wider community is as inclusive and diverse as possible where LGBT+ feel safe and can thrive in their communities through LGBT+, Inclusivity and Diversity training for schools, businesses and organisations.

About Midlands LGBT+ Project
Midlands LGBT+ Project, formerly known as Laois LGBTI+ Project, is a dynamic brand dedicated to providing support and creating safe spaces for LGBT+ adults in Laois, Kildare, Offaly, and Westmeath. Our mission is to foster a vibrant and inclusive community by hosting regular social meetups, peer support groups, pride events, and awareness campaigns. We also offer invaluable support to parents of LGBT+ young individuals.
Through our efforts, we strive to combat isolation and promote a sense of belonging among the LGBT+ community in the Midlands. Beyond our community-building initiatives, we are actively engaged in promoting inclusivity throughout the wider community. We deliver LGBT+ Inclusivity and Diversity training to schools, businesses, and organizations, ensuring that everyone feels safe, valued, and able to thrive in their respective environments.
Established in February 2021, Midlands LGBT+ Project quickly expanded to meet the overwhelming demand from individuals in Laois, Kildare, Offaly, and Westmeath. Inspired by Youth Work Ireland Laois, our journey began with the intention of supporting LGBT+ adults in Laois and has since grown into a vibrant movement.
