About Israel Society
Israel Society is a nonprofit social impact fund known as Midrash. Tech that is dedicated to supporting Haredi entrepreneurship and innovation. With a focus on venture philanthropy, Israel global advocacy, and digital diplomacy, the society aims to empower and uplift the Ultra-Orthodox Haredi community, which is the fastest-growing segment of the Jewish People.
The inaugural Midrash. Tech Jerusalem Innovation Forum was held in December 2017 at the historic Heichal Shlomo landmark in Jerusalem, bringing together prominent speakers and panel discussions on this important topic. The Haredi community is experiencing remarkable growth, with active representation both at the Knesset and in ministerial cabinet positions.
Moreover, recent events have sparked a significant increase in Haredi internet adoption, opening up opportunities for economic growth. It is projected that the Haredi community will double in size every 16 years and comprise 40% of the Jewish population in Israel by 2065. In contrast, Jewish populations in Diaspora countries are declining due to low birth rates, an aging composition, and a negative balance of people leaving Judaism.
