The Midwestern Diner is a Copenhagen restaurant devoted to authentic American diner food and the welcoming spirit of the Midwest. Opened in 2019 by an American couple from Chicago, the diner draws on their childhood memories of family-run restaurants, bringing nostalgic details, retro decor and music together to evoke the golden age of American diners. Its menu celebrates familiar comfort-food favorites, including fluffy pancakes, juicy cheeseburgers, burgers, crispy snacks, barbecue, creamy milkshakes and eye-catching freakshakes.
Guests can also enjoy seasonal homemade pies, alongside brunch, desserts, childrenโs dishes and drinks. The team aims to pair its food with the warmth and hospitality associated with Midwestern culture, offering a taste of the American heartland in central Copenhagen. Takeaway orders are available through Just Eat and Wolt, or by phone for collection.
The restaurant is located at Kultorvet 15 and normally serves guests daily, with the kitchen closing at 9 p. m. Following a fire on July 26, The Midwestern Diner is temporarily closed for renovations; reopening updates are shared through its social media
