Migrant Investor & Entrepreneur Association (MIEA) Ltd is a pioneering brand that is reshaping the relationship between New Zealand and the global community through migrant-driven innovation and entrepreneurship. As an initiative by migrants for migrants, MIEA receives support and connections from both New Zealand government agencies and private entities. Although completely independent, MIEA works closely and transparently with these partners to benefit the migrant investor and entrepreneur community, as well as the New Zealand economy.

MIEA's members consist of migrants who have arrived in New Zealand under the Investor 1 and 2 categories, as well as the EHF global impact visa holders. Additionally, ambitious migrant founders with global expertise who want to contribute to the migrants' community are also eligible to join. Currently, MIEA boasts 56 members, with a goal of increasing this number to 200 by 2022.

The formation of MIEA was a result of Immigration New Zealand's recognition that new arrivals needed better support and a sense of community. Their strategy involves leveraging the experience and knowledge of the migrant network that came before them. MIEA provides assistance with orientation, education, and relevant associations, helping migrants understand the New Zealand business and investment landscape. As the association grows, it aims to become the go-to resource for families planning their arrival and integration into their new home, providing support in areas such as education, taxation, and law.

MIEA is an Immigration NZ initiative that focuses on the aftercare support of migrants. By creating a program where migrants support migrants, INZ believes they can provide invaluable assistance to settle these migrants successfully. Their new strategy emphasizes the impact of migrant investors, aiming for $100 million in investment in regions, environment, and social sectors of global competitiveness. By 2021, MIEA plans to grow its network to 200 members, with 10% of them participating in governance, advisory, and mentoring roles.

MIEA's goals and aspirations include facilitating the journey of its members in New Zealand, being a voice for its members by engaging with government agencies, private partners, and the NZ community, sourcing and sharing useful information with members, organizing regular events to facilitate connections and experience sharing, and building a world network of founding members (Ambassadors) based in different regions of NZ and the world.
