Dövlət Miqrasiya Xidməti is the official State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Established in accordance with the Presidential Decree No. 560 dated March 19, 2007, it serves as the central executive authority responsible for implementing the state policy in the field of migration, as well as managing and regulating migration processes according to the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The main activities of the State Migration Service include formulating and preparing the main directions of the state policy in the migration field, ensuring their implementation in collaboration with relevant government agencies, registering foreigners and stateless persons, granting temporary or permanent residence permits, issuing work permits for foreign nationals, participating in citizenship matters, providing support for Azerbaijani citizens abroad, and carrying out measures to combat illegal migration. The State Migration Service also operates a Unified Migration Information System to provide necessary information to state entities involved in managing migration processes, automate documentation, verification, survey, and analysis, and improve electronic services related to migration. It has a 24/7 Call Center and offers electronic services in 20 areas.

The structure of the service includes regional migration offices, detention centers for undocumented migrants, a training center, and a medical institution. The State Migration Service of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is also part of the unified system. In addition to the main office, the service has branches at border crossing points, including international airports, and provides relevant services at all ASAN Service centers.
