About Maynard Institute for Journalism Education
Maynard Institute for Journalism Education is offering the Newsroom Transformation Program, a pilot initiative funded by the John S. Knight Foundation. This program aims to assist news organizations in better informing underserved communities and establishing workplace cultures of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB).
By implementing an embedded coaching model, the program will help newsrooms become more equitable and inclusive in their reporting, workplace practices, and community engagement. The program will span five months and provide coaching to selected news outlets to develop strategies, plans, benchmarks, and training to implement DEIB values. The Maynard Institute's goal is to contribute to best practices in community journalism and the implementation of the Fault Lines® framework.
The application period has closed, but interested news organizations can subscribe for updates on future programs
