Mile High Bug Club

Mile High Bug Club is a nonprofit organization focused on conserving Colorado’s insects, arachnids, and other arthropods. The club works to build awareness and interest in these often-overlooked creatures while supporting the protection of their habitats. It creates opportunities for people of all ages to learn about arthropods through enjoyable, responsible educational activities, including field trips, meetings, and other events open to both members and the general public.

Membership is free and open to anyone interested in joining. The club’s activities include nature outings and educational programs, with recent examples featuring insects attracted to sunflowers, moth observation during National Moth Week, and a blacklighting event at Chico Basin Ranch. These experiences encourage participants to explore Colorado’s wildlife and learn about arthropod behavior and environments. Mile High Bug Club also shares updates and event stories through its blog, and invites community members to support its work through donations and volunteering. By combining conservation advocacy with accessible, hands-on learning, the organization connects people with the diversity of Colorado’s small but important wildlife.
