Milla Says is a Norwegian assistive communication brand focused on helping people who use speech-supported signs, known as Tegn Til Tale, communicate more clearly with the people around them. Developed by Aleksander Helmersberg following personal experience with his daughter, the brand aims to strengthen understanding, independence and participation for users of all ages. Its partner-interpreted communication solution has an agreement with NAV’s Assistive Technology Centre.
The Milla Says offering includes Sharing, an app that lets family and other communication partners record, organise and share a user’s personal signs, making them easier to interpret consistently. Communicator is designed for the user’s iPad, supporting practice with personal signs and helping users express needs and feelings to others. SayWhat is a learning game that can be played with a user’s own signs or with more than 1,000 common signs based on Norwegian Sign Language. The brand also offers related accessories, including iPads, protective cases and shoulder straps, as well as support and training. Milla Says received a Zero Project award in 2023.
