About Mill Creek MetroParks
Mill Creek MetroParks is a public park system serving Mahoning County, Ohio, with more than 5,000 acres of diverse natural and recreational spaces. Established in 1891, it offers visitors a variety of places to explore, including Mill Creek Park, Yellow Creek Park, nature preserves, gardens, lakes, historic sites, and the MetroParks Farm. Facilities include the D.D. and Velma Davis Education & Visitor Center, Ford Nature Center, Lanterman’s Mill, and Mill Creek Golf Course.
The MetroParks supports outdoor recreation and learning through activities such as hiking, biking, boating and fishing, archery, disc golf, equestrian activities, golf, and winter recreation. Visitors can also enjoy picnic areas, playgrounds, trails, wildlife viewing, and seasonal events. Educational offerings include programs, field trips, summer camp, and guided trolley and tractor-wagon tours. The organization also provides facility and wedding rentals, permits, visitor guides, and community outreach. Conservation work addresses local wildlife and water quality, while volunteering and donations offer ways to support the parks. A free mobile app helps visitors find information about MetroParks and trails.
