Millgrove Truffles is a family-run truffle farm in Manjimup, Western Australia, set among the karri trees of the Southern Forests. The Johnstone family grows and harvests black truffles (Tuber melanosporum), a prized variety also known as the French or Périgord truffle. Each winter, the truffles are unearthed at the farm, where the distinctive aroma beneath the trees signals the season’s harvest. The family works with Solly, their truffle dog, to find the crop, which they supply to diners in Australia and around the world.
Visitors can join a truffle hunt among the farm’s 760 trees, learn about truffle cultivation and discovery, and hear Leanne and Scott Johnstone share their experience as local truffle farmers. Millgrove Truffles also provides practical storage advice and recipes to help customers enjoy and cook their truffles at their best. The farm’s website shares information about its story, truffles, hunts, tips and recipes, offering an introduction to this distinctive Manjimup-grown ingredient and the people who produce it.
