About Millicent Rogers
The Millicent Rogers Museum is a place that celebrates and shares the rich arts and cultures of the Southwest. Established as a memorial to Millicent Rogers, this museum showcases her own inspiration, patronage, and collections which are at the heart of its holdings. Millicent Rogers, the granddaughter of Henry Huttleston Rogers, one of the founders of the Standard Oil Company, was a prominent figure of her time.
After settling in Taos, New Mexico, she became friends with many influential members of the Taos artist's colony. The museum features a central permanent exhibit highlighting her incredible collection of turquoise and silver jewelry. Additionally, the museum houses an extraordinary collection of over 7,000 objects that document the arts and cultures of the Southwest, including pottery, Hispanic Santos, Native American art, textiles, and more.
