MindfulBear

MindfulBear is a Singapore-based specialist counselling service focused on children and teenagers aged 5 to 18. Founded by Chua Sze Siong, a child therapy specialist and former Ministry of Education school counsellor, the organisation supports families seeking help with social, emotional, behavioural and learning-related challenges. Its services include counselling and coaching for academic motivation, ADHD, anger, anxiety, grief and loss, internet and gaming addiction, parental divorce, and bullying.

MindfulBear begins with a 60-minute early intervention screening to explore possible underlying concerns and help families understand the reasons behind a child’s behaviour. Counsellors then provide targeted therapy using the organisation’s 4A Method: Awareness, Activation, Adjustment and Advancement. This integrative approach combines play therapy, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioural therapy and mindfulness, with interventions tailored to each child. The process aims to build positive behaviours, emotional understanding and practical life skills that support lasting change. MindfulBear reports more than 5,000 children and teenagers helped and over 30 years of combined child therapy experience.
