Mindre på Spil

Mindre på Spil is a Danish app designed to help people take a break from online gambling and regain control of their habits. The service is free and uses DNS blocking to restrict access to more than 450,000 known gambling domains, including overseas operators that may not be covered by Denmark’s ROFUS register. Users can choose a self-exclusion period of one to twelve months; once activated, it cannot be shortened, but it can be extended or restarted. The app is available for iOS and Android, with an option to set up blocking on Mac or Windows computers.

Mindre på Spil also supports involvement from trusted family members or friends. Users can add close contacts who are notified if an exclusion period ends or if the app or blocking protection is removed early. Users can report gambling websites that are missing from the blocklist, helping the service improve its coverage. Founded to provide a practical, accessible tool for people experiencing gambling-related difficulties, the project describes technology as a supplement to personal support and professional help, and says it works with relevant organisations and professional treatment providers.
