Minehead Dementia Action is a volunteer-led charity supporting people living with dementia or memory loss, along with their families and carers, in the Minehead area of Somerset. Established in 2015 as Minehead Dementia Alliance, the charity works to help people live as well as possible in their community. It provides regular, welcoming activities that encourage social connection, enjoyment and continued community involvement.

These include Della’s Diners, a twice-weekly lunch and games session; a Memory Cafe with conversation, games and visiting music groups; Singing for the Brain, led by the Alzheimer’s Society; and the Forever Greens gardening group and Amble not Ramble. The charity also signposts people to professional support and raises awareness of dementia by working with local businesses, clubs, organisations and the wider public. Minehead Dementia Action welcomes volunteers and members, and invites community support through donations, fundraising and schemes such as the Co-op Local Community Fund.

As it has no central funding, grants and community contributions help fund its activities, outings, awareness work and support for families and carers
