About Mineral SpringsVFD
Mineral Springs Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department serves a 43-square-mile area in Union County, North Carolina. The department operates from two stations: its main station on Highway 75 in Mineral Springs and a substation at Rocky River Road South and Doster Road. Together, the stations house 11 pieces of equipment. The department has transitioned from an all-volunteer organization to a combination of volunteer and paid staff, supporting its fire and rescue operations in a growing community that receives approximately 1,500 calls each year.
The department welcomes prospective volunteers and recruits full-time firefighters. Its listed qualifications for full-time roles include IFSAC Firefighter 2 certification, North Carolina or National Registry EMT-B certification, and specified incident command training. The department also shares information about its leadership, officers, history, apparatus, stations, calendar, and community activities. Board meetings and an annual general meeting are held at the main station. Through its staffing, equipment, recruitment, and public information, Mineral Springs Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department provides local fire and rescue services to residents across its service area.
