Minibieb is a Dutch initiative that encourages people to share books through small, local book cupboards known as minibiebs. These community libraries make it possible to borrow or exchange books for free, bringing reading into neighborhoods and public spaces. The Minibieb website explains how the concept works and offers practical tips for starting or running a minibieb.
Visitors can search for a nearby book cupboard, find information about getting involved, and explore news, downloads, frequently asked questions, and other resources. The site also promotes reading activities and community events, including challenges that encourage participants to read books borrowed or exchanged through a minibieb. For people who want to set up their own cupboard, the webshop features minibieb models made by Visie-R.
The models are supplied in primer, allowing buyers to paint and decorate them to suit their preferences. Through guidance, event promotion, and access to minibieb products, the initiative supports free book sharing and helps make reading more visible and accessible across the Netherlands
