Welcome to the World Museum of Mining, located in Butte, Montana! Our mission is to preserve the rich historical legacy of mining and the related culture of Butte and the surrounding region. Step into history as you explore our 50 exhibit buildings, countless artifacts, and 66 primary exhibits in the mine yard. One of our most popular attractions is the Underground Mine Tour, where our knowledgeable tour guides will take you 100 feet into the Orphan Girl Mine to see the original shaft station.
You'll get to view one of the few exposed veins in North America that can be seen by the public. For an immersive experience, walk the streets of Hell Roarin’ Gulch and venture to the depths of the Orphan Girl Mine. We offer various options for admission, including general admission and memberships.
