Minuteful Kidney

Minuteful Kidney is a home kidney-health testing service brought to you by Healthy.io. It helps people take an initial step toward detecting kidney disease with an FDA-cleared urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio (uACR) test, completed at home using a smartphone app. The test checks for albumin, a protein in urine that can be a sign of kidney disease; the site notes that kidney conditions may also be associated with increased cardiovascular risk.

The service is designed as a straightforward, self-guided process. Users can check whether they are eligible and request a kit delivered to their home, complete the test in minutes, and receive results through the app, which they can share with their doctor. Each kit contains a urine collection cup, a single wrapped dipstick, and a Color-Board used as part of the testing process. The website says some users may qualify for a complimentary kit through the Detect the SOS initiative, sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim; terms and conditions apply. Availability and eligibility should be checked through the service.
