About MIO Minoritetenes Interesseorganisasjon
MIO is a user and family organization focusing on individuals with minority backgrounds facing substance abuse and mental health challenges. Their mission is to reduce the stigma and taboos surrounding these issues through support groups, courses, counseling, seminars, and user involvement. In their support groups, participants interact with individuals sharing similar backgrounds and challenges, fostering trust, support, and personal growth.
Additionally, MIO conducts outreach work to provide support and guidance to individuals in need, tailoring solutions to their unique circumstances. They also host themed evenings addressing vital topics such as mental health, substance abuse, and cultural differences, open to all interested parties. Furthermore, MIO offers courses and seminars for users, family members, professionals, and healthcare personnel on mental health, substance abuse, and cultural diversity.
