Michigan Outdoor Wishmakers

Michigan Outdoor Wishmakers is a nonprofit organization that makes hunting and fishing adventures possible for children, young adults, and veterans living with life-threatening illnesses or life-limiting disabilities. Drawing on experience and specialized equipment, the group helps participants take part in outdoor activities they may have thought were beyond their abilities. Its events are provided at no cost to participants and their families, with safety prioritized through partnerships with qualified hunting lodges and fishing charters.

The organization’s annual programs include the American Heroes Spring Turkey Hunt for service members, the Friends of MOW Memorial Hunt for children and young adults, an American Veterans’ Whitetail Hunt, and summer fishing trips on Lake Michigan with Big Lake Fish Charters. Michigan Outdoor Wishmakers also supplies food and necessary gear, and may provide other adventure-related gifts. The group emphasizes lasting friendships and continued connection beyond each event, fostering a welcoming community for participants and families. Its adventures are funded through donations and fundraisers from sponsors, supporters, and followers.
