MIR Initiative is a platform that brings together business leaders, innovative thinkers, public officials and city representatives to explore the future of transport, infrastructure and communications across Eurasia. Its work focuses on the METR region—Middle East, Europe, Turkey and Russia—and neighbouring areas, with particular attention to a proposed high-speed “Silk Metro” connecting cities along the historic Silk Road. MIR presents this vision through an interactive map and its coverage of the Railway Silk Road and the Forum of the Cities of the New Railway Silk Road.
The initiative also publishes the MIR White Book, a collection of articles and perspectives on future transport and communications infrastructure. Contributors include experts and decision-makers from companies and governmental, nongovernmental and intergovernmental institutions. Other resources include position papers, interviews, project updates and articles examining railway, road, aviation, industrial and financial issues. MIR invites interested participants to submit articles and engage with its online community, and offers email updates about new publications and events.
