Misinforesearch

Misinforesearch is an Agri-food, Climate Change and Rural Misinformation Research Platform based at the University of Guelph’s Ontario Agricultural College in Guelph, Canada. It works to identify and counter misinformation affecting farming, food, climate change, and rural communities through research, collaboration, and capacity development. The platform brings together scholars, practitioners, students, and other stakeholders to strengthen evidence-based understanding and help communities respond to information disorder.

Its resources include a curated literature database, research publications, myth-busting content, and tracking of misinformation. Visitors can explore guidance on recognizing false claims about topics such as sustainable farming, GMOs, and climate-smart agriculture, alongside tools that support fact-checking and critical thinking. The platform also shares research findings, news, announcements, and media coverage, and offers opportunities to contribute to its databases and wider work.

Through knowledge mobilization and capacity development, Misinforesearch aims to support agricultural stakeholders and advisory professionals, promote food security, and foster more informed, resilient agri-food and rural communities.
