The Miss Weary Foundation is an Oklahoma-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to honoring a legacy by helping build a stronger healthcare workforce. Its mission is to support aspiring nurses through education, financial assistance, and community engagement, contributing to improved health and well-being across Oklahoma.
The foundation’s scholarship program provides financial support for Practical Nursing (PN) education to qualified applicants committed to advancing in nursing and serving their communities. Applicants must be Oklahoma residents with a high school diploma or equivalent. Applications are reviewed quarterly, and the foundation offers support throughout students’ education journeys.
Beyond scholarships, the Miss Weary Foundation connects students with volunteer opportunities through community partnerships, encouraging service and civic involvement. It also supports people pursuing nursing careers as part of efforts to address the nursing shortage. Donations, grants, and sponsorships help fund scholarships and expand opportunities for future healthcare professionals.
The foundation reports six scholarships awarded, 22 PN students served, more than $110,000 invested in nursing education, and a 98% graduation success rate.
