Mizan Al Arab is an Arabic literature and heritage platform founded by Abdullah Al Zaydi of Oman. It brings together poetry and prose from the pre-Islamic era through modern times, helping readers explore, understand, and compose Arabic verse. The site features more than 243,000 complete poems by nearly 6,900 poets, with biographies, collected works, and tools for examining each verse’s meter, poetic feet, rhyme, and vocabulary.

Its resources extend well beyond poetry. Readers can access hundreds of classical heritage books in full, alongside collections of Arabic proverbs and maqamat, literary narratives traditionally presented in rhymed prose. A dedicated dictionary draws on major Arabic reference works and illustrates word meanings with examples from poems. The platform also offers guides to the sixteen poetic meters, a tool for analyzing and scanning verses, themed browsing, reading pathways, quotations, and explanations contributed by scholars and community members. Mizan Al Arab is designed as a broad, interconnected resource for discovering Arabic literature, studying its forms and language, and tracing the poems quoted throughout the literary tradition.
