Mizukara is a family-friendly karate club serving Bangor, Holywood and Newtownards in Northern Ireland. Founded by Sensei David Brashaw in 1994, it offers traditional and sport karate for children aged five and up, teenagers and adults. Beginners are welcome, with a free first class and age- and belt-based groups that help new students learn alongside others at a similar level.
Training covers kihon fundamentals, kata forms and kumite sparring, with classes for general practice and competition. The club also offers a Thursday fighting class for students interested in competing, and private lessons or courses at other venues on request. Its coaches are fully insured and have enhanced Access NI approval.
Beyond karate, Mizukara provides S. P. A.
R fitness sessions combining speed, plyometric, agility and recovery training with Shaolin stretching, as well as Tai Chi and Qi Gong classes. Private Pranic Healing treatments are also available on request. With decades of coaching experience and students who have earned competition titles and medals, Mizukara emphasizes safety, enjoyment, fitness, confidence and respect
