MK Lučenec

Musher Klub Lučenec (MKL) is a Slovak sleddog sports club founded in May 2002. Established by competitors and race organizers, it brings together mushers across racing categories and currently has 20 members, including four children. Its members have earned titles and awards at both national and international level.

Alongside supporting its competitors, MKL organizes sleddog events and has built a long-running calendar of races. These include winter competitions at Detvianska Huta and Krahule, wheeled sleddog races in Mošovce, and events near Revište Castle. The club also organizes and features in competitions under the MKL Cup and Husky Cup names, including Slovak off-snow championships and the Memoriál Daniela Lukáča.

A major milestone was hosting the 2006 European Championships in Krahule, covering mid- and long-distance racing. Through events at national and European level, the club has helped showcase Slovak mushing. MKL’s activities bring together racers, organizers, and supporters of sleddog sport across seasons and disciplines.
