MLLn Pohjois-Suomen piiri

Mannerheimin Lastensuojeluliiton Pohjois-Suomen piiri ry is a regional nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the wellbeing of children, young people and families with children. Its work supports safer, more positive everyday life through practical family services, community activities, guidance and opportunities to take part. For families, the organization offers family cafés, peer-support groups, family support services, home assistance in Nivala and a children’s equipment rental service in Oulu. It also coordinates volunteer support, including family mentors, adult friends for children, homework helpers and friendship services for immigrant mothers.

The regional branch works with young people to encourage participation and influence, and to prevent loneliness and bullying. Its activities include peer-support student programs, lessons and workshops on media literacy and friendship skills, and youth-focused projects. For professionals and partner organizations, it provides training and services related to parenting, child development, mental wellbeing, bullying prevention and child impact assessment. Members, volunteers, municipalities, wellbeing services regions and businesses can support or collaborate with the organization.
