Medical Leaflets Patient Safety (MLPS) is an initiative focused on protecting patients and consumers by ensuring that clear, accessible information accompanies medicines. The organisation advocates for printed medicine leaflets as an essential, standardised source of information, supplied with every medicine at the point of purchase or issue. It highlights their value for people across Europe, regardless of location, circumstances, digital access or digital literacy, and stresses the importance of protecting personal data when information is delivered through other channels.

MLPS promotes alternative digital and other information channels when they complement printed leaflets and provide additional value without creating risks for patients. Its resources include a fact bank, position papers, news, a manifesto, research and an infographic addressing patient safety, healthcare access, inclusion and sustainability. The initiative argues that tangible leaflets are readily available, can be consulted directly, and may help patients retain important instructions, reducing the risk of medicine misuse.
