The Marin Museum of Bicycling is a fascinating bicycle history museum and cultural center located in Fairfax, California. As a registered non-profit, our mission is to illuminate and celebrate the past, present, and future of cycling. Our museum showcases the evolution of the bicycle from the 19th century to the turn of the 20th century, with the impressive Igler and Kaminski Collections. Visitors can explore the fascinating development of this extraordinary vehicle during the Golden Age of the 1860s to the 1890s. Additionally, we are honored to be the home of the prestigious Mountain Bike Hall of Fame, which displays the evolution of mountain biking from its inception in Crested Butte, Colorado in 1988.

Our extensive collection includes road, track, touring, and transportation bicycles ranging from 1915 to the 1980s, as well as accessory items. We offer a library of cycling books and periodicals curated by renowned cycling journalist Owen Mulholland. Guests can also delve into our archives and discover original items from the 1880s to the present day.

The Marin Museum of Bicycling is run entirely by dedicated volunteers who are lifelong bicycle advocates. Our 4,700-square-foot facility in downtown Fairfax features a screening room and a main hall that can accommodate various events, lectures, and parties.
